Dragon 32 with SAM satellite / daughter board (Ebay)

Not too familiar with the Dragon 32 architecture:

Was this part of a revision on a earlier motherboard design or was it an intended feature.

ROM/Write enabling mod - similar to what they did on the D and E board Coco 1 - to allow 64K all-ram mode for operating systems like OS/9...

That would be my best guess.

Thanks for the reply Ian. I was referred to the following page over the CoCo mail list where I saw the thread started yesterday:

A discussion on this regard held in 2010/11, lots of pictures and even a schematic. I had never seen this and it is not on the Tano/Dragon 64 I bought from California Digital not that long ago.
