i was trying to find some info on some qbus hardware earlier today and noticed that frainresearch.org is gone, both on :80 and :8080. i am also unable to get to either of the internet archive crawls, both fail to 301. does anyone happen to have a local copy of the site?

Frainresearch helped me to understand the galaxy of options in QBUS PDP-11. I hope this disappearance is only temporary.

as al mentioned it is still available on internet archive, i will also have a local copy up shortly. it was updated as recently as october of this year, perhaps i just caught them during a bit of downtime?

I was just on frainresearch.org about a week ago.
Maybe the hosting changed and DNS wasn't updated properly
i suspect that's the case but i always get nervous when stuff disappears like that. just in case i threw up the most recent crawl at http://frain.rsx11m.io, let me know if you notice anything strange

So just for grins I tried the frainresearch.org URL again and it's working. I don't know when it came back. I tried daily for a week or so and it failed and eventually I forgot to check. It seems to be as before but I may have missed something. It's also "not secure" as in http only, but I don't remember if it was before. I think not with the 8080 port.

BTW, the "bad example" in the IA link above may be one of mine. If you go forward one capture, you'll see a new image with a full serpentine wrap job. I converted quite a few 18-bit backplanes to 22-bit with the "one set across, then down on both ends" method.

If you've ever seen one of Grace Hopper's nanosecond wires, you'll realize why it doesn't matter one bit (no pun intended), given the Q-bus speed.
