I have installed a Future Domain SCSI-2 microchannel controller in a PS/2 model 80 (20 MHz planar). I would like to boot the system using an internal ZIP 100 SCSI drive, is that possible? If I load the FD drivers and launch guest, the drive works correctly so there are no connection problems. But in the Reference Disk configuration utility, there are no SCSI devices detected.

I know the external ZIP 100s were limited to SCSI ID 5 or 6 which a lot of controllers could not boot from. (Many controllers insist on the boot drive being at SCSI ID 0.) What SCSI ID is your internal drive set to?

Secondly, IBM was pretty strict (restrictive more like) about what they considered boot device. The SCSI ZIP reports itself as removable storage; is that a problem for the device search/BIOS code?

The SCSI ID is configurable between 1 and 6. I have tried all values with no luck. The device is identified as removable...
