I did get my Commodore 1571 disk drive working the problem was not
necessarily with the disk drive. I found I did not have my Commodore
model C128 in Commodore 64 mode and found that I needed to hold down
on the C= key before turning the power on to the Commodore C!28 and
then turn the power on to get in to Commodore 64 mode then to go back
to Commodore 128 mode simply turn the power off and back on. The 1571
has a 1571 and 1541 mode. I am not sure what mode it is in nor how to
determine this nor do I know what device number my 1541 drives are in
nor do I know the column number my programs are in a lot of times
programs manuals have forgotten important derails as well as to tell
people how to load programs. I do have a disk cleaning system by Radio
Shack should I use that?

I have couple of 1541 DRIVES ONE I TRIED TO NIGHT which although I
could get it to work with a program on my 1571 drive I recently tested
just one of them and could not get it to work with my 1541 drive it
gave an error message said device not present even though I used the
same cables as for my 1571 drive. I thought it might not be set for
the right device number and also trying to write text to a disk on
this disk drive and see if I can read it back so I do not need to be
concerned might help/. I think I might have a 1541 test disk by
Commodore as well I could try if I want to hunt for the disk. I have
manual for the 1541C I do not have a owner’s manual for the 1541 is
the use of the 2 drives 1541 and 1541C the same so I could fully use
the 1541C drive on the 1541 without the C? How is one to determine the
drive type, column type and load instructions for a Commodore program
when it is not stated?

When a program fails to install on a Commodore disk drive and the
green light stays on or keeps flashing on the di sk drive what should
one do?
ON a Commodore C128 when sahould one use the reset button and when
should one not use the reset button??

I have a 1541C of which disk sticks in the drive it is the push button
version to remove thje disk not the lever type I have sometimes had
lables on disks peel off part way perhaps leaving stickem in the drive
I thought it might also have other release problems how should such be
fixed and what is a good brand and type of lablel to use and should
one glue down old labels with or tape doiwn old lables with on lables
that have a tendency to come off and if so with what type of tape or
glue?

It would likely be best if we have a phone conversation and perhaps
some day if we wanted we could trade game and other programs ,. I
have one 1541C drive and 2 1541 drives and one 1571 drive if the 1541
drives are in good shape or not perhaps you would know of some that
might want them ? I do not need so many drives. I could also use some
help testing my VIC-1525 printer, can you help me on that? And using
my modems. I have a Commodore 300 and 1200 modem and a Volks 6480
modem though no OEM software for the Commodore modems. Was there O. E.
M. software for the Commodore modems hereon and if yes what were they
called. I do have Novaterm.

On the Commodore 1902A do you mean that you take the button off of
the front of the monitor that connect to the switch by pushing and
holding upward on the bottom of the button as you pull the button off?

Is there no need to take the back of the monitor cabinet off to
replace the power switch?

What are the differences ion the Commodore 1902 and Commodore 1902A monitors?

What is the highest speed Commodore modem?

Please click on videohobbieperson not before the word not here but wherew your mouse arrow changes to a hand/ where when you click on videohobbieperson you get prompts for leaving a question since I get to many forums to go to to check for answers it ios also helpfull if you leave an email address and telephone number woth the reply though not required. I have a C128 and a 1541 I mignt consider trading one or the other for a
C64. I also have software to trade with for other software I am primarily interested in games.
