I was trying to explain about the use of religious icons to an uninformed person the other day, here is how the explaination went:
"You know how people in churches use crosses, statues and things to remind them of who they worship? Yo look at these things and think about god, not about the thing. Let's look at it like this. You have 'icons' on your desktop, which are representative of other things, but you see the icons as a reminder. Like, every time you click My Computer, you are not worshipping My Computer, you are really worshipping Bill Gates."
I had to turn the thing into a joke just to save face :lol: I guess that's what you get when a geek gets talking about religion.
