Got the XE1541 adaptor off ebay [going to test]

It's a little SMD board, with transistors, it's the more advanced one of the two.

If it has SMD transistors, you have an XA1541, not an XE1541.

I built my own and it works wonderfully! I've downloaded some cool demos off the net and ran them on the 64.
