How about $1,000. for a 99/4

Crazy. To think we used to throw the 4's in the garbage because they weren't 4a's...
 
That machine had a lot going for it--it was packed in the original box (very few 99/4 boxes survive) with all of the original accessories, and it was from very early in the production run for the 99/4 (the 46th week of 1979). I've only seen a few older than that, and the earliest ones I've ever seen were from weeks 37-39 of 1979. Most 99/4s go for between $200 and $250, $300 if they have something interesting about them (like the internal speaker with the slide switch volume control where the Solid State Software badge usually sits).
 
Yup, congrats to Brad :) He sells lots of awesome items pretty frequently. Unfortunately they're also often in really good shape and boxed so out of my market price range ;-)
