HP 9830A printer interface protocol?

Does anyone have any info on the protocol? I got given one of these, and everything seems to work (didn't test cassette player yet), but it doesn't have the optional printer. If the protocol is simple enough, I would like to program a microcontroller to emulate the printer, and output over rs-232. Then I can use one of my other vintage computers as a multi-line display

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for. I already used Tony's guide on the 9830 itself to fix an issue with the display board. The section on the printer interface said the printer was out of scope... but I didn't know he also did the same kind of docs on the printer itself.
