HX monitor options

My brother bought me a HX with a CM-11 that has odd colors.
I wouldn't mind repairing it but doubt anyone would touch it so I'm looking for replacement options.

1. CGA to VGA converters. The GBS-8220 price sounds great but its only for Analog RGB. Any way to adapt it to RGBI? I read something about C128 boards but really want a plug and play solution.
2. EGA/CGA capable LCD monitor. I found two. The first is the Miracle 12" and you can find it on ebay or ramplus http://www.ramplus.com/ltmi12lcdmo9.html at $325.00 and the other is more expensive and is on Ebay for 450 http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-9Pin-En...385?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ea4e4cf91
3. 8 bit VGA card and HX adapter. I'd like to hear experiences with this on the HX or EX with their non-standard slots. I bought an EEB1000 when I was 14 and tried this. It resulted in a fried motherboard and a trip to Radio Shack as I plugged it in backward after the darned thing didn't work.

Not a bad option at $100. This would allow me to run the tandy on anything including a vga crt right?
Instead of $100 for that why not get a NEC Multisync for $200 that you can run with a CGA, EGA or VGA card? You can use it with just about any machine you've got. I have one in excellent condition if you're interested.

He could use that converter box to capture VGA video as well as display it.

I like both ideas. The multisync sounds great but shipping is a PITA, expensive, and dangerous. If I were local I'd buy it from you because I don't think its going down in value.
