I know IBM used many different manufactures for it's 5.25" floppy drives, and I suspect the same is true over the live of the XT and AT. I'm wondering if anybody has a list of the various drives offered or at least an idea of the common ones used. I know I have a couple ST-412s w/ IBM logos. I think the AT came with a full height 20 meg drive origionally. I guess we can throw the 5162 XT286 on the list too even though I don't own one :)

Drives that I know IBM supplied in the 5160:

Seagate ST-412 (10MB, full-height type 1)
IBM WD25 (20MB, full-height type 13)

Drives that I know IBM supplied in the 5170:

CMI 6426 (20MB, full-height type 2)
Seagate ST-4026 (20MB, full-height type 2)
IBM 0665 (30MB, full-height type 20)
Seagate ST-4038 (30MB, full-height type 20)

Others indicate that ST-225s were supplied in the 5170 as well, but I think there was some discussion in these forums about the possibility that the ST-225s were installed by dealers.

Wow, thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to sort through the old harddrives I have and set aside anything that might be useful for restore an XT/AT.
