So.

I have been attempting to get my 5150 to try to boot from the floppy drive first, now that I know it works.

Issue is, it won't even attempt it, no sound comes from the drive, no light comes on, nothing.

I did some research and I know that Switch 1 on bank SW1 needs to be OFF for it to know there is one or more floppy drives, and it will attempt to boot from drive 0 first, and then other drives.

It's not doing that. My system is composed of a floppy drive (drive A) and an XT-IDE (drive C). I assume the floppy is drive 0, if the drive letter is A.

So I am at a loss for what is going on, what other things should I look at?

My system is composed of a floppy drive (drive A) and an XT-IDE (drive C).
The XT-IDE card contains the XTIDE Universal BIOS (a.k.a. XUB) in its ROM.
Are you aware that the XUB changes the boot order, by design?
See the entry at [here] that starts with, "Before I added the XT-IDE card to my computer, ..."
