"They are called IBM eServers pSeries (for POWER and PowerPC).
These were made in collaboration with Apple and they actually were called PReP systems.
PReP and CHRP were complete failures because Apple and IBM were in agreement only on the processor which was basically contract manufactured by Motorola as the Apple/IBM alliance was supposed to be fab less.
But Apple used Apple Desktop Bus and NuBus and IBM used PS/2 and Micro Channel.
So there was no common platform until USB and PCI appeared.
But by time the alliance has long gone down under."
