I have a IBM PS/2 Model 25sx (a somewhat rarer version of the all-in-one PS/2, 386sx processor, has IDE on board, as well as one 16-bit ISA and two 8-bit ISA sloths which I want to install a CF IDE adapter in as a hard drive replacement (there’s no hard drive in there atm).
The IDE header on the motherboard looks normal except for the cutouts to align the little tabs on the IDE cable. It has two cutouts near the end instead of one in the middle.
Before I modify an IDE cable I’d love to make sure that I’m doing the right thing and that IBM just made an odd choice with the connector. Maybe someone of you has a IBM PS/2 Model 25sx and installed a compact flash drive? I’d love to see some photos of how you installed it!
