Hi,

I've been researching older/vintage object orientation models and came across something called SOM (System Object Model). Apparently it came out a little before Microsoft's COM. Does anyone have any example programs or code that was built around SOM or utilized SOM?

The wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_System_Object_Model describes a system that sounds/sounded very promising.

SOM dates back to the mid 1990s. It's not going to run well on any of the hardware people are using here, and it was not widely adopted. (I had a copy of the SOM Object Toolkit for OS/2 way back when.)
