Just curious. Thought it might be fun to try on my old 486 with a more modern control system.
Quake used to be the 'litmus' test for gaming back then.There is a list of DOS DOOM source ports here: https://www.doomworld.com/classicdoom/ports/?platform=1 But the list doesn't say what the minimum requirements are.
Heh, I remember starting out with DOOM on a 486-33 with only 4 megs of RAM and an ISA video card when it first came out. Had to upgraded to 8 megs to play the registered version levels. Later with a 486-100 overdrive upgrade it could even run Quake 1. But on a 486, the hardware specifics really determine play-ability.
