Hello all,

I'm currently working on a Edom/Wintech MA022 Rev. A motherboard. It has an AMD 386DX-40, Cyrix FasMath 387, 8MB of RAM (30 pin SIMM), Trident VGA card, etc.
My current issue is that any time I install a sound card with an IDE controller on it (which is the goal) it causes the hard drive controller to fail and the machine no longer sees the hard drive (SanDisk Extreme 512MB CF).
I'm trying to add a CD-ROM drive (quad speed no less!) but this error isn't something I can seem to navigate around. I've tried a Sound Blaster 16 (CT2290) and an ESS Audio Drive (ES1868F) PnP card, both cause the same issue. I've double checked my jumpers and IRQ settings and I do not see an obvious conflict. It is a fresh install of MS-DOS 6.22 as of this afternoon. Any and all help is as always greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Soundcards use a secondary address for IDE, and the motherboard has no IDE onboard. What IDE/Floppy controller is installed, and to what base address?
