Logitech really screwed up on the final revision of the M110!

Back on the 19th, I ordered a Logitech M110 (combination USB/PS2) from Amazon, to share between my Chromebook and my DOSbook: as you might imagine, with two notebooks and their power supplies crammed into a single notebook case, space is at a premium.

On the 25th, I took delivery on what turned out to be a mislabeled M190 (cordless, apparently with a USB dongle, although only a picture of the dongle was visible), which went back on the 26th.

Today, I took delivery on the replacement. And I learned that the final revision of the Logitech M110 mouse before it was discontinued (the "M110S") deletes both the PS/2 adapter plug and the compatibility with the PS/2 mouse interface standard.

And I picked up an apparently reconditioned Logitech M120 (also USB/PS2 dual interface), with the adapter plug, which does work with both interfaces, for $5 including tax at a local computer junk-shop. In the process, learning that said computer junk-shop, although none of the notebooks I saw on display looked like they would have made a good DOSbook, has bins of PS/2 mice, some of them new-in-box, some of them (like the aforementioned M120) name-brand, some of them both.

And I learned that while the "fake M110" won't work in the front-panel USB socket of the rarely-used WinDoze XP box in my office, it works just fine in the back-panel USB socket, freeing up my older M110 (which is my mouse, not purchased with company funds) to take home.

Logitech has just lost my brand loyalty for good, as far as new products are concerned, but I at least have two mice that can be shared between my Chromebook and my DOSbook.
