Earlier this year I got a copy of the PC-51 user manual, which is now available here (along with several other CORE International related newsletters).

This was PC-DOS 2.0 era software that would emulate the full BASIC capability of the IBM 5110 while running on the IBM PC. With an optional piece of hardware, it would also support connecting the 5114 8" disk drives to that same IBM PC, making the entire IBM PC 5150 operate like an IBM 5110. But the PC-51 software could still run standalone as well. There was a meaningful amount of business software developed on the 5110, so this was a way to help keep those applications running or to help with the data exchange of migrating account records to newer systems.

In the IBM documentation that I have, IBM 5110 related "notice to customer" bulletins went on as late as 1988. The BASIC on that system was about 30K - 70K of ROS/ROM (derived from late 1960s System/3 variant of BASIC), compared to the later Microsoft BASIC that were in the order of 2K - 8K of ROM. That is, there was quite a bit of more capability in the "mainframe BASIC" ancestors.

If anyone has IBM 5110 related manuals - please check the back cover of those black manuals. IBM had formed-fitted inserts special made to hold "QIC" tapes and 8" disks, that may still be there. PC-51 itself should be on a more modern 5.25" disk.

Also, am curious if anyone used any other CORE related products between about 1980 to 1993 (probably relatives of small business owners). They developed a number of "large storage solutions" for a variety of systems.
