Macintosh Portable without model number

I have a Macintosh Portable that doesn't have a model number listed on it. Instead of the plate where the model number is usually found, there is printing that says "This device has not been approved by the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale, lease, or sold or leased until the approval of the FCC has been obtained." In most other respects, this seems to be a model 5126 - it has the 5126 mainboard and PDS memory slots. But, instead of having the standard 5126 screen, it instead has what appears to be a 5120 screen upgrade, as it has the two screws under the handle at the top of the bezel. I have attached 3 photos. Anyone know anything about this?

I just had a look at the service manual, which seems to indicate that the two screws don't necessarily mean a screen upgrade, but indicate either that it's a "later model" or has a "replacement display."

There were two models. The first had no backlight and the
Second did.
