Malwarebytes using all memory

While using my computer this morning I started getting "Low Memory" error messages.
Calling up Task Manager showed that Malwarebytes was using taking up all available memory until my computer crashed.
Doing a Google search showed large numbers of users having the same problem.
Tried ending the Malwarebytes process but it kept restarting and causing the same problem again.
Malwarebytes has been notified of the problem and is working on a solution. Until they remedy the problem, the program is unusable.

MBAM apparently pushed an update two days ago to fix said issue:

If you don't have version 1.0.3808 or higher, update your copy of MBAM.

An alternative if updates won't fix it would be Spybot, but it's a bit more annoying to use.
