MFM Hard Drive testing in a more modern PC

Having a working MFM drive vs running flash emulation has appeal all to itself. The appeal to me is to get a vintage pc running with all the vintage hardware.

Ok so i had what appears to be an xt clone motherboard, 2 368dx motherboards, and a 486 DX motherboard, and this 486slc (cyrix) motherboard.

The only one I could get to attempt a boot was the 486slc.

Its a "DAT305" model. Reading some other post it may be a good thing that this board does not have built in IDE controllers.

The bad news. With all the boards I drug home.. not a single MFM controller. So now i need to find one of those.
