Monorail 133 ram?

I bought a couple 72pin 32mb EDO RAM sticks for my Monorail 133. With one stick plugged in, Windows 98 still reports just 16mb of RAM available. With both plugged in I can't easily boot into Windows and get a Windows protection error when I do. Does anyone know what might be the matter? It's possible I have something misconfigured in the BIOS but I can't see anywhere to specify the kind of RAM I have plugged in.

Are you sure that this machine supports 32 MB SIMMs? Sounds like it doesn't have enough address lines to use more than 16 MB SIMMs, or there's a memory compatibility issue.

There are some systems that support more memory using FPM modules than EDO. I have an AST 486 that will run 64 MB in FPM, but only 32 MB in EDO.
