Howdy all,

can anyone tell me what system this mystery joystick attaches to? There's no manufacturer label of any kind. It has two LEDs marked "auto enter" and "echo mode", and three switches marked "echo", "graphics", and "test". The connector is a 24-pin dual inline type.

Anyone seen this shtick before? :)

Well, not sure why but that has all the verbage of something that would control a printer or plotter.

It appears to have the same plug as this joystick.

That's an Apple ][ joystick, which plugs into a standard 16-pin DIP chip socket.

The plug on the mystery shtick is considerably beefier and *female* (sorry I didn't mention that). Might open it up and see if there's a hint printed on a PCB, if any.

Mystery solved, and Nige was right: it's from an IBM 3277 workstation, as I found out after stumbling over some documentation. It used to be hooked up to an IBM 4331 mini-mainframe. Apparently the stick's the only part left from that setup. Pity...
