I had a little project to network DOS and Windows 10 for a company that uses some legacy equipment. I was pleased to have been successful. The DOS machine is running Novell's Lan Workplace v4.2 and Tsoft's NFS client (still being sold). The Windows 10 machine runs XLINK NFS server for Windows. This allows the DOS machine to map a drive letter to an NFS share on the Windows machine. There's a few ports in the Windows firewall that need to be opened, but no other security setting changes are required. The NFS server is also able to restrict who can connect to it by source IP address. I haven't attempted to find a way to map a drive letter from the Windows machine to the DOS machine, so far it has not been necessary. Time will tell how stable it is, so far so good.

Very cool. What's DOS memory usage like with these clients? I use a Linux samba share as an intermediary between DOS and other OSes. Works OK but I have to disable several security features.
