Odd Seagate ST-251

There is an auction for a Seagate ST-251 with 4 extra power connectors. Never seen one like this.
The location of the connectors means it cannot be mounted in a standard drive bay.

From the location of the item in the eBay Auction being in Medina Texas, I wonder if these came out of Computer Reset in TX.

Good chance they did.

I'm seeing a fair amount of auctions that are from sellers close to that area.

Anyone thinking of buying one of these, beware: per the listing, all of these drives failed formatting and are "from the batch did not make the final cut". The second circuit board picture clearly shows a burn mark, right above the stepper motor.

I’ve got a similar stack, but mine are supposed to be new. Still have the printout from seagate on the ones in the pink bags.




Look that the defect list. Looks like one of mine.
