I've a 486DX-50 based computer with OPTi 82C495SLC chipset and Promise DC2000 VL-2 VESA IDE controller.
Currently, there is no HDD inside the PC and I want to use a CF-IDE adapter for internal storage. The problem is that the computer won't recognize the adapter at all. The PC BIOS has HDD Auto Detect feature, but it can't see the CF card. The BIOS ID is "40-0400-001276-00101111-111192-OP495SLC-F"
The CF IDE adapter was tested with an Athlon-based PC and found to be functional.
Any suggestion on how to make the CF adapter works? Is there is an updated BIOS for my motherboard or maybe for the Promise controller?
Thank you
