Hi all. I lost my color screen since pulling my PC out of storage and cannot find a viable explanation. My old monitor went bad and I had to get a red-yellow-white to HDMI converter which I believe should have worked. I checked here and online but cannot seem to find my individual issue. If someone has seen this lack of color issue please send me a link to it. I have read that U6 could be the culprit but my MB does not seem to have one, or at least not where they say it should be. I have everything working in the PC except this issue. I would appreciate any assistance.

It might be that you are only seeing the luminance signal from your Commodore. What model do you have, and what brand and model number was your old monitor?

Note that the colors used by the RCA plugs are ambiguous:

Original Commodore RCA plug colors:
Yellow = Luma
Red = Chroma
White = Mono audio

Modern RCA plug colors:
Yellow = Composite video
Red = Right channel audio
White = Left channel audio

So if you have a Commodore luma/chroma monitor cable and want to use it with an HDMI converter or a TV that has a composite video input, you'll only get black & white video because you're only connecting the luma. You need to get a monitor cable specifically designed to output composite video.
