Possible PayPal scam

This just came into my e:mail.
I suspected it was a scam so I launched my browser to check my account and it is fine.
Reported it to PayPal.

Yeah, it's making its rounds. There's nothing 'possible' by it - it's a standard phishing scheme. Takes about two milliseconds for my scam radar to catch on. Some people at work got those emails today.

I'm quite sure if you had just looked at the link it supplied you would have immediately known that it was not from PayPal.

You're lucky. It happened to me in reverse a while back. PayPal opened an email purportedly from me saying I needed to have my account temporarily suspended.

Or something like that, because that's what they did. It was no picnic getting it unsuspended. You have to be logged in to get your account unlocked so you can log in.

I spent hours and hours on the phone, in front of a computer, to prove to them that I was locked out.

PayPal scams are a once a month occurrence. Rare, though, was the email on the 15th from B Degnan urging me (and 18 others) to click on a link.
