Ive got my SX completly torn down (dust bunnies so thick they turned solid like wood), this poor thing had been ran haaaard. dust bunnies compressed under the motherboard, in the drive, in the psu. I've never seen anything so bad.

Was wondering if its worth recapping the PSU while I had everything out? None of the caps look bad but no telling how dry they are and I cant see any date codes to see the age. I dont want to do extra work.

I think I'll stick it on my DC Load tester before putting everything back in and if it pops, it pops!

Just didnt know if its a thing with these PSU or not, if they need recapping.

I think if I had a SX I would check the capacitance of the caps in circuit if possible.
If not remove and check. Remember when there was a whole slew of cruddy caps
that invaded us? Compaq, HP and Apple to name a few used them.
