I just got a IIe that has an issue where the plastic attachment points on the upper side of the case on both sides of the keyboard have broken. (Possibly someone rested something heavy on the keyboard?)

I’d love suggestions on how to best attempt to reattach these. Hot glue? Perhaps a support under the keyboard? The case is not super pristine or anything so maybe I should just find a new one...

If you're thinking glue Bondene might be a good yet simple possibility. It's a solvent cement so the result is like a weld.

If you think hot glue will work, super glue (cyanoacrylate) and baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) will do a great job.

A commercialised variant of this (using plastic resin) is called rapidfix. It works quite well; I've used it to repair moulded standoffs in apple laptops.

The powder is messy though. Remove everything you can around the area before using it.
