I picked up an Epson Apex 200 (Turbo XT clone with monitor and keyboard) with what appeared to be light battery leakage and a blown tantalum capacitor.
When I got it home to take a look, I find that the +12v and -12v leads seem to have shorted and burned a hole THROUGH the motherboard!
The machine boots normally and seems to work other than failing to actually read floppy disks.
What actually uses 12v? Just the floppy drive motors?
Any advice on where to jumper the power pins since the traces are physically gone?
