I am building a SCELBI 8B, I am searching for a set of programmed 1702A EPROMS.
I believe there are 16 pieces required to populate the SCELBI PROM board.

Can anyone tell me who might be able supply these?

You can pick up parts at Unicorn Electronics. I don't know if he has blank parts and how "good" they are. I'm not interested in becoming a component dealer, but I have built a Martin Eberhard 1702 programmer and can burn the parts for you.

regards,
Mike Willegal

Seems the Unicorn Electronics have the 1702's for $8 each, so that equates to $128 for the 16 before shipping or taxes.

that ebay listing is for lot of 8 pieces for us$19.95 or offer. And there are 4 lots of those 8 pieces available.

So that in my thoughts is a reasonable deal, if you get 3 lots for $60, would allow for some failures. Mind you these are S/H and you are not it appears guaranteed they are all the same speed.

The other point is it may be worth getting some cheap s/h ones till you get design built, tested and working, then go out hunt and collect 8 of the old ceramic ones. They look way more the period look you could hope for.

There are white ceramic packaging, and the 'green' ( I know that's not the correct word, but I am tied) look.

Look at these

and these

There seems to be a variant on the Ceramic packs. ie type 2, type 7 and some others. You will need to research what you need

Thanks for the detailed replies guys!

Mike, I will email you to discuss details.

inotarobot, I like your thinking. I was actually thinking the same thing.
I am going to start out with the newer grey ceramic eproms, then in the future
graduate to the "first style" of the white ceramic C1702A, the one with the square window
and the gold legs that wrap the top of the white ceramic package.1702.jpg
