Sharp PC-3100 - Won't Turn On - Changed Batteries - Was Working OK Before

Hi,

Hope someone can please advise how I can get Sharp PC-3100 to turn on again. It was working fine, but I didn't use it for some time and now it won't turn on.

I replaced the backup battery with a new CR2032 and then the (3) AA batteries with new batteries.

It supposed to turn on when you press any key. But nothing happens.

In manual it says to try 'Fn' + 'Esc' and then press any other key to turn on, but nothing happens.

I also tried clicking the 'reset' button on the bottom of 3100.

It seems very odd as it was working OK before I did not use for a while.

Any suggestions as to how to get it working again?

Are you really confident that the AA batteries were inserted in the correct orientation ?

Thanks for your help and suggestion.

I checked battery direction when I put them in....but just to make sure, I just checked them again and they are in the right orientation according the sticker that shows the orientation.
