An interesting project most may not have heard of previously.


Demo shows:

  • SD Card support/FAT filesystem

  • Multilingual support

That is neat. I think I vaguely remembered hearing about it. Never seen it working before. Much nicer to have a video than 10 year old press releases from Pakistan.

Very cool that you had heard about it. I think I have some additional pictures of proto boards and alternate industrial designs. Will try to dig those up and post.

Sadly, no spares. I am just glad the Mountain View CHM is preserving it. And you are right, this was a rare app for the 8051... three 40Mhz RD89C51s working in concert, to be specific!

I have one lying around somewhere and if I can get my hands on a running system I would like to do a better video in future.
