The tape drive on my spectrum +2 has died. I am trying to remove the datasette and add a 5 DIN socket to connect to an old cassette recorder

With the aid of a schematic and mostly common sense, I have found the 2 pins which give audio to the tape deck and 2 pins which recieve it on the motherboard. However, using and earpiece the sound out is very quiet. Would it require some sort of amplification circuit, or would it not matter?

bbc,

I misunderstood your question and so I had to delete my recommendation/answer.
Sorry about that :hammer: (I am the one on the left) !

BTW, I have a ZX Spectrum + that I got about a year ago, and I haven't even
turned it on . Don't have a clue if it works or not.
