Terminal help.

Hi,

I'm using an old Oyster terminal to connect connect directly via the COM port to my BBS. I can establish a connection, however in order to see the data being sent from the BBS I have to press a key on the terminal each time to see the characters being sent.

So for instance, if I connect and do nothing, nothing is displayed, if I hold the space bar down on the terminal the data being sent is displayed.

Is this an obvious setting that I need to change?

Check the pinouts of your serial cable. Sounds like some sort of handshaking issue (RTS/CTS). Maybe whip up a minimal cable (TxD, RxD, GND) to see if that fixes the problem.
