I've recently brought up a Thinker Toys SSSD Disk Jockey floppy controller with two "Discus" drives (Shugart 800's) on my IMSAI 8080. I cobbled together a cbios.hex and cboot.hex based on the Disk Jockey manual, with modifications to set the baud rate on the serial port from the default value in ROM. I can boot into CP/M 1.4.
A YouTube video posted by Mardy Marshall (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSwID26J0iI) shows a similar setup running CP/M 2.2. My system is glacially slow by comparison. Not sure if that's because of the 8080 I'm running (versus a Z-80 in the video perhaps), or some other tweak?
I also have a Tarbell 1011A, which is much faster than the TTDJ.
I'm looking for any images of the original DJ CP/M distribution disks. Anyone else here tinkered with the Thinker Toys system?
