TI 99/4A power brick question

Hi all,

Can any of you guys who are familiar with the content of the Ti 99/4a power brick tell me if it is possible to modify a US unit to 240v for use in the UK, and if so what we would need to do please?

Can't you use a 240v - 120v transformer?

The person on behalf of whom I am asking does have a transformer. I think he's just a bit frustrated that most of his Ti99/4a machines need the transformer, and every time he bids on UK spec transformers someone outbids him.

The US spec brick won't work for what you want to do. That said, you do have several options in addition to using a UK spec power supply. You can check the eBay sites for Germany, Italy, France, and the Netherlands for a 220V power supply and just put a plug adapter (or change out the plug) to use it in the UK. Over 200,000 99/4As were sold in Germany, so you should be able to find one relatively quickly. I didn't see any up now without a console, but they show up there pretty regularly.
