As those of you who follow the classiccmp mailing list may have noticed, there is another exciting QBus project unfolding as we speak. The product could be likened to a sort of QBus development board and would essentially let you emulate (for want of a better word) practically any QBus adapter - even several at a time. Here is a post describing the design. The specs go much further than anything I'd ever envisioned putting together:
  • 166MHz Coldfire Processor
  • Cyclone III FPGA
  • 32 MB RAM
  • 4 MB flash
  • Ethernet support
It is hoped that these cards can be made for around $200 each, maybe less if there is enough interest. If you'd like to get your hands on one, and you're not on the classiccmp list, I can put you in touch with the developer.

For the time being I'm going to carry on tinkering with my own little MSCP controller project, but that may change depending on how this other project pans out.
