Weird eBay item

This item showed up in my feed,

it's labeled as a PMAX and based on my research PMAX refers to the DECstation series, but the case looks like a DECsystem 5000.

I'd bid on it, but I don't like bidding wars and I'm already up to something else.

The DEC model/serial sticker on the back is blank and there was apparently a tag removed from the back. The residue from the removed tag looks like it may have said "d|i|g|i|t|a|l EQUIPMENT CORPORATION". The model label on the front looks like an engraved nameplate attached on top of a smaller regular nameplate. I'd guess it is an engineering or development system.

The motherboard looks like the ones pictured here :-

with different daughter cards, but I can't reconcile that with this picture

as the front plate looks solid, but the case picture shows a floppy. A long time ago i was offered some MIPS workstations, at a price, but decided I wasn't interested. Was I stupid....

Certainly has all the characteristics of a development system by my standards. Very cool to see something like this crop up.
