So I got a box of older hard drives from a friend. Most are small sizes <10gb, a good number <1gb. What's neat is I have a lot of pairs of the same drive, which is great because you can just put two of them in a system and manually mirror them.
Well, I checked out the serial numbers of two WDC Caviar 11000's while I was testing them, and they're only 16 off each other. What are the odds? These days, you won't even find two drives made the same month from the same store. After 15 years (both made 10-5-1996), these two drives, made the same day just 16 apart from each other are going to be installed in the same system. Hopefully, they don't fail on the same day...maybe I should back up to the network drive just in case...
