What fun-OS can be run on a 386SX?

You may want to give a try to ForthOS too.
I'm not sure about its requirements, but maybe free 32-bit version of Menuet OS will be happy with 386SX?

I was wondering what I could run on my various 386, especially the slower 386SX, machines except DOS and Windows.

If you'll reconsider DOS, installing DOS and then running Geoworks Ensemble on that class of hardware is astonishing. It's essentially a fast graphical system with display postscript and performs orders of magnitude faster than Windows 3.x does.

As a former Mark Williams employee, I second the suggestion to run Coherent 4.x on it. A 386sx-16 with 8MB or more should run it very nicely, and you will be surprised at the speed. (And the lack of functionality, but it predates Linux so it deserves some slack)
