WINZIP not compatible w/ PKUNZIP?

I've generally found it easier to archive using whatever my choice is (usually lha) then split that separately if needed. Use SLICE.COM. It's 1904 bytes and is quick and easy. Synatx is "slice filename a:" and it automatically generates the mirror program, called SPLICE, on the first diskette.

I used to love SLICE/SPLICE until I was trying to read the 20th disk out of 20 and there was an error. I wrote my own splitter utility called CHUNK that y'all can use for free if you like.

If I have to do a ton of archival from a sensitive system and I can't put ethernet on it for some reason, I'll usually do something like Norton Backup to get it off and then transfer onto another classic machine that has ethernet.
