Im looking for a computer for a new restoration project in MN preferably between Grand rapids and Minneapolis. Im looking for one made before 1989, relatively complete/undamaged looking, and not a tandy 1000, mac se, apple two, or osborne (already restored them). Open to alot of ideas. More or less made the ad to see whats around.
Thanks

I have a Compaq Portable ii that I picked up about a month ago. It was (and is) in a few pieces, I was told there is a popped tantalum in the PSU, but everything worked prior to that happening. I'm also not sure when exactly that was. Any interest? I am on the fence about keeping it, as I want to fix it, but fear I may never have the time...

350 with the monitor and keyboard is a pretty good deal. Looks super clean and taken care of.

Do you ever make it down to Free Geek in Minneapolis? There are Retro Computers for sale there, including “Projects” that need work. These projects don’t normally make it up to the website although there’s an IBM 5150 there now that’s pretty tempting…

I'll second this - a lot of good retro stuff comes through there. Currently an HP/Apollo workstation, for example...
