These are the last known versions of z80ctl (22-Dec-93) and diskutil (1-Jul-88 ) which were never widely distributed. They were recently uncovered and provide additional fixes and features made by Frank Durda that might be of interest to 68K Tandy users.

z80ctl 3(136) contains fixes for the Tandy 2000 keyboard map, adds support for 5.25"/3.5" PC-compatible floppy formats (15 sectors per track / 18 sectors per track) and 38400/19200 BPS serial support with a crystal swap.

diskutil 3.43 adds support for formatting drives larger than 1024 cylinders. The WDC1010 in the HDC needs to be replaced with a WD2010 to take advantage of this.

The PC-compatible floppy formats are mentioned in the 2nd to last paragraph of Franks "Utilizing 5 1/4" media on your Tandy 16/6000 computer system." article here. Frank says they will be discussed in a future article. Details on configuring this can be found in the comments of version.s in the v136 source.

The crystal swap is detailed in Franks "Serial Ports and your Tandy 16/6000 Computer system" article here. With the new z80ctl there is no need to apply the patches from the article but you will need to rebuild z80ctl with -DNEWXTAL if you do the crystal swap and/or -DMUX to support the 4-PT serial cards from the MUX box.

The WD2010 replacement is detailed in Franks "Hard Disk Drives and your Tandy 16/6000 Computer system" article here. With the new diskutil there is no need to apply the patch from the article.

I've tested z80ctl 3(136) in trs80gp and on a M16B for a few days without issue but have not done any extensive testing. diskutil 3.43 has been tested in a special version of trs80gp but I don't have a MFM drive larger than 1024 cylinders to test on real hardware.

To swap back to your stock z80ctl/diskutil just copy your old version back in place. If you do happen to use any of these please update this thread with your results.

You can download the new z80ctl/diskutil here.

Thanks!
