Hi,

So I've recently come into possession of a "Kaypro Professional Computer". There is no hard drive, only two 5 1/2 floppy drives.

Both drives seem to work fine and do read and run other things (like boot dos and execute commands, etc) like they should.
However, when I type in "BASIC" and then press enter, I get "Divide Overflow", that's with using one of the DOS disks ( PC DOS 3.3).

I also have an official PC DOS 1.10 disk and when I type "BASIC" in using that one, it sometimes gets "Frozen" reading the floppy, sometimes it clears the screen as well, but nothing else happens.

I don't think it's a hardware issue, maybe the disks are slightly bad, but could it be something software related im not getting?

I could be wrong on this but I thought BASIC that was included with PC-DOS actually called up functions from BASIC that was in the IBM PCs ROM. If you're using a clone machine you might need to use something like GWBASIC if it doesn't have ROM BASIC.

Cheers,
Dave
