I've been thinking of getting a z80 board for my //gs. Is it worth it for having a CP/M machine to play with?
Or are the disk formats going to kill this idea. My only experience with CP/M is on my Commodore 128, and most people know what a dog that
machine is for cpm.

(Also, does anyone have one cheap?)

I think the GS has compatibility issue with a few Z80 cards. The way in which Apple (MS Z80 softcard) CP/M is architected is such that I/O access are forwarded from the Z80 to 6502 for processing, so don't expect any speed demon.

I don't know if the PCPI Applicard works in the GS, but I have one in my //e, and it's a fairly fast CP/M machine at 6Mhz. The Applicard (or Starcard or ACE-80, all the same thing) has its own RAM, using the //e as an IO system for a CP/M computer on an interface card.

I'm working now on getting the PROPART ProDOS partitioning driver working, so that it can use my CFFA for storage.
