Hi, I need help trying to identify what these are. They are Franklin Apple II Clones, but not sure what exact
Franklin system they belong to. Ie- 1000, 2000, 2200

Will Franklin parts fit and work into an Apple II based computer, or just Franklin only?

I'll take more pictures later today.

What about compatibility? Will these fit into an Apple II or only work on Franklin Ace system?

Does anyone know if this hardware will run on an Apple II ?

Good old Babelfish.

Yeah, I don't think "run on" was the right choice of words for some of the languages - particularly Japanese.

Personally I don't know that much about the Franklins.

Erik has at least two Franklin Ace on his webpage collection, and in the box of specs it says that the bus is "Apple ][ compatible". What that means in practise, someone else should elaborate on. I suppose in order to be compatible (to the degree they got into a lawsuit), the hardware bus can't be implemented in a radically different way.

The big question is which kind of drivers, software or ROM options you might need to use these expansion boards, and if you have access to it.

Yes. Or no. Mebbe...sometimes. Most cards are interchangable, however...

From the manual of my ALS Z-Engine:

"There are several different protocols commonly used to run these cards. Some standards, such as the firmware protocol, have helped to reduce these problems. Nevertheless, there will always be some products that are incompatible."

And yes, #3 does appear to be a Z80 board (with it's own mem on-board) for running CP/M. The PCPI was a pretty popular board, so finding software for it might not be too difficult.

a negative....

i think i recognise no 2 as a printer interface for a printer, it says OKI on it, I think it's a parallel option for a microline printer.
