Perhaps it had the $$$$$ gold white / gold MOS ICs, so they decided to "substitute" them :D

I was thinking. I think most of the MOS units had the white, no? I've actually seen complete ones sell for less than what the white ceramic 6502 sells for alone.

I have a MOS board with a Black 6502, grey ceramic 6530 and a white ceramic 6530. I figure they just used whatever stock they had to hand with the very earliest ones having all white chips.

The one on ebay does have chips dated 1980. Perhaps it was one of the early ones with a buggy 6502 that was replaced and the 6530's were swapped at the same time?

I've ended up buying this board. After the listing ended, I put an offer in which the seller agreed to. I know the risks with these things being untested but as I've said before, I'm a sucker for these fixer uppers :)
