Southern Europe Help ro programming PROM 74S288

Hello,

please i need to program two 74S288 used in my Commodore PET 8296, i have only an old EPROM programmer support this PROM but it need adapter to program this type of PROM, i don't have idea of this adapter is or if is replicable to use on my programmer.

I also have a Willem eprom programmer but the list of supported chips not have 74S288.

Can any one program this eprom for me? I have two new chips buyed on ebay, in case i ship this chip to the member helped me

Any help is appreciated whether you can program them for me or if you can help me understand how I can do it with my programmer by building an adapter.

I cannot help you directly (by programming it) but I found an old article describing a manual programmer for the bipolar ROM you specified:

I think the thing could be improved/modernized in some ways that may make the task less tedious.

Thanks for reply, this is a good document. At the moment i have found on ebay a service from seller to programming and shipping PROMs, and this resolve my actually problem.

Programming bipolar PROMs is tricky. PROMs with the same memory organzation exists from different vedors with different programming algorithms and voltages.

I have a Data IO 29B with a Unipak 2B which should be able to handle your 74S288. Do you have an intel hex file with the data?

The OP has arranged with the '288 part supplier to program them before shipment...
